Comments in Instagram posts, replies to stories, and responses to direct messages are all lead generation methods available with Instagram integration on the Leeloo AI platform.

On Instagram, similar to Facebook, there are restrictions:

  1. 7-Day Rule: After seven days from the last client message, communication with the person will be unavailable unless they respond to your bot. To avoid this, engage the user in conversation with the bot so they regularly send messages.

  2. Buttons work only on mobile devices. While few people use Instagram on a PC, it’s still worth noting.

  3. Message sending speed. You can review the limitations at this link: Facebook Developers - Instagram Rate Limit

  4. If your stories or posts are promotional (marked as "ad"), read the specific nuances of operation at the end of this document.

IMPORTANT! After connecting the Instagram bot to your LGT, you must go to the Settings section, then Messengers, and reconnect the bot!

Subscription to the Instagram bot via the subscription button in LGT works ONLY on mobile devices!

To connect Instagram, you will need:

Facebook Account

  1. A Facebook account with a Business Page (or create a new Business Page in Facebook: go to PagesCreate New).

Business Account on Instagram

  1. A Business Instagram Account (Professional Account Type). You can either switch to a business account in Instagram settings or create a new business account.

Facebook Page

  1. A Facebook Business Page that must be linked to your Instagram account. This page also needs to be connected to Leeloo.

Linking a Facebook Page to an Instagram Account

  • Go to Facebook, open the page you need to link with Instagram, go to setting and privacy tab, linked accounts, and click "Connect Instagram".

  • Log in to your Instagram account and grant the necessary permissions.

After you have created a Business Instagram account, linked it to a Facebook Page, and granted permission for message exchange, proceed to connect your Instagram account to Leeloo.

To connect your Instagram account in Leeloo:

  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations Messengers

  2. Click the "Refresh Permissions" or “Connect Facebook” button

After that, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Facebook account linked to your Instagram.

  2. Complete all authorization steps and grant all necessary permissions.

  3. Click “+ New Connection”, select Instagram, and choose the page you want to connect.

The connection is now complete. You can proceed directly to the settings.

Before configuring Instagram post settings through Leeloo, you must first publish a post or stories.

Automation Settings for Instagram Posts

To set up automation for Instagram posts, follow these steps:

  1. Go to: AI Support → Response Automation → Instagram Comment Replies.

  2. Press on “+” and select the post you want to automate responses for.

  3. Set up reply conditions:

    • Choose keywords or trigger phrases.

    • Define automatic responses based on user comments.

  4. Enable automation and save the settings.

This ensures that responses to comments are handled automatically according to your configured rules.

  • When replying to a story, the user is immediately subscribed to the specified LGT.

  • When replying to an Instagram post, the user will be subscribed only after they respond to the automatic message they receive. Therefore, for Instagram posts, use replies that include a call to action.

  • If you communicate directly in Instagram DMs (outside the platform), those messages will not be displayed on the platform.

To successfully work with advertising stories and posts on Instagram:

  • Use “Smart Reply” to set up trigger words and specify the LGT Smart Reply for subscribing users to the sales funnel.

Direct Message Automation

If you want to set up a universal response for any message in your bot’s Direct, use the "Response to unknown message" feature.

If you want to track a specific response, use Smart Replies for your Instagram bot.

Attention! If you change the Facebook page linked to your Instagram account, you must refresh permissions in the Settings section.

  • Events will not be transmitted via the FB Server-Side API for Instagram accounts because the primary parameter for event transmission is Fbclid, which is unfortunately not passed when subscribing through Instagram.

  • In Instagram, you can only send:

    • Images

    • Cardbox

    • Message templates
      Other elements cannot be sent.

  • During the page connection process to the platform, check the permissions—they must all be enabled to ensure the bot functions correctly.

Reply Messages (Responses to Specific Messages in Direct)

Clients often reply to specific messages in Direct.

For convenience, in Leeloo.ai Chats, you can see exactly which message the client replied to within the conversation.

Sending Videos in Instagram Direct

Leeloo.ai users can now send videos to their clients via Instagram Direct. This feature has been implemented for your convenience.

Card Box in Instagram

Checking Subscription to an Instagram Account

The “Subscription to Page” Trigger allows you to check whether a user is subscribed to your Instagram account, enabling more targeted interactions with your followers.

Trigger States:

  1. Subscribed to the page

  2. Unsubscribed from the page

How It Works:

  • When the trigger is activated, a timer starts.

  • Within the set time, the user must subscribe to the connected Instagram page and send a message to the Instagram bot so the system can verify the subscription.

  • If a user is already subscribed when entering the trigger, it will not activate for them.

Important Setup Tip:

To ensure the trigger works only for non-subscribed users:

  • Before the trigger, add a “Subscription Filter” and set the condition to “User is not subscribed to the page.”

  • This prevents already subscribed users from triggering the action.
