Reconnecting channels (bot reconnection)

In this instruction, we will analyze the actions in a situation if the bot has lost connection to a channel (for example, from Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)

While working with channels, it sometimes happens that connection problems arise.

As a rule, the need to update the connection is a limitation imposed by messenger developers. Therefore, some messenger channels may experience such problems more often than others.

When one of your channels loses connection, our platform will notify you about this via email: a letter will be sent to the mailbox that was used to register the company. You will also see a red indicator opposite the “Settings” item, indicating that one or more channels cannot connect to instant messengers:

In the window that opens, you just need to click the “Reconnect” button. After this, the bot will be reconnected, and the reconnection date will be updated:

Most channels are reconnected using the method described above using Telegram as an example.

Reconnecting Facebook and Instagram bots has its own characteristics.

To reconnect Meta platform bots (Facebook Messenger / Instagram), you may need to update permissions or re-establish a connection with Facebook.

In order to reconnect the bot, go to the “Settings” section on the platform. Then select the desired Meta messenger and click "More details".

In the window that opens, click "Reconnect".

If you cannot find the one you need among the bots, you need to click on the status icon for stopped bots

If the "Reconnect" button is not available (grayed out), you need to click the "Update permissions" / "Connect with Facebook" button at the top of the page

In the window that opens, you will be asked to select a Facebook profile, continue or edit settings. It is very important here that you choose the profile that has all access to manage your Facebook pages and Instagram profiles. After making sure that the selected profile is correct, click "Edit"

On the next page, make sure that the checkboxes are activated for all required Instagram profiles.

Click "Next" and make sure that all the necessary Facebook page profiles are selected.

Click Next and make sure all options are enabled. This is important because if some parameters are disabled, the bot may not function correctly.

Click "Done", then "Ok", refresh the page in the browser and reconnect the bot by clicking "More details" and then "Reconnect".

If an error appears or the bot was previously stopped, click on the three dots in the block of the bot you need.

Now click "Start".

IMPORTANT

With an existing connection between the messenger and other services, the connection with Leeloo.ai will not be stable and may be lost during any action in the messenger by another service.
