1. Introduction

Definition

"Unsubscribe" is a mass action in the Audience section that simultaneously removes a group of clients from a chosen sales tunnel. It is a tool of the Manage stage and at the same time an Engage-reversal operation: Engage — the unsubscribe halts the tunnel and stops further touch points with the client along that scenario.

The action reads the client list from the Audience section (respecting the active Filter Panel) and removes the chosen tunnel from the list of active subscriptions in each subscriber's Client's Card. After unsubscribing the client stops receiving messages from this tunnel but stays in the active Audience base and remains available for other tunnels, broadcasts, and tags.

The B2B operator (manager, marketer, administrator) launches the action via the Audience interface: picks the clients, specifies the tunnel, sets the execution time, confirms the launch. This is a surgical operation — only the specified tunnel is removed, the client's other subscriptions are untouched.

The B2C client receives no unsubscribe notification. The change affects them indirectly: further messages from this tunnel never reach them. If they are later re-subscribed to the same tunnel (in bulk or manually), the scenario starts again from the first message.

The Client's Card records the unsubscribe from the specific tunnel with a timestamp and the operator. Previous communication history through this tunnel is preserved — unsubscribe does not delete already-sent messages, it only stops further progression through the scenario.

After reading you will understand:

  • how to remove a group of clients from a specific sales tunnel simultaneously via the Audience section;

  • how unsubscribe differs from blacklist, archive, and tag removal;

  • why unsubscribe removes only the chosen tunnel instead of blocking communications entirely;

  • how to schedule execution and what the "Recommended" checkbox does;

  • what happens if a client is later re-subscribed to the same tunnel.

Purpose

"Unsubscribe" is the tool for surgical management of clients' active subscriptions: one execution stops the tunnel scenario for an entire segment while keeping the clients in the active base for other communications.

At the Manage stage, mass unsubscribe covers re-shaping of active communications: pull clients out of a no-longer-relevant tunnel after a strategy shift, halt an outdated scenario for an entire segment, free the audience for a new tunnel. The job — manage the subscription mix flexibly without irreversible operations.

Through the rollback of the Engage stage, mass unsubscribe lets you cleanly stop touch points with the client along a specific scenario: for example, halt a welcome series for clients who have already purchased the product, or break a warm-up sequence for those who have moved into a different funnel. The job — avoid "burning out" the audience with unnecessary messages from an outdated tunnel.

2. How to perform the "Unsubscribe" mass action

2.1. Open the "Audience" section

Go to the Audience section and, if needed, configure the Filter Panel in advance to narrow the selection to the clients who should be unsubscribed from the tunnel.

2.5. Specify tunnel, set time and confirm

Pick from the list the tunnel that the client(s) should be unsubscribed from. The tunnel must be one the selected clients were previously subscribed to.

Set the date and time of execution for the mass action.

The "Recommended" checkbox automatically schedules the mass action for 02:00 AM server time.

Click "Unsubscribe" to confirm. After execution the selected clients will no longer receive messages from this tunnel.
