1. Introduction

Definition

Connecting your own domain means linking a domain name (or subdomain) you have purchased to the Leeloo.ai platform, so that all your LGTs and offers open not on the default wep.wf domain, but on your own branded domain. This is an infrastructure setting that serves the Attract stage: a branded entry point increases trust in the link, bypasses blocks, and lets you correctly set up ad conversions. Indirectly it also supports the Convert stage, since offers and payment pages are also hosted on your domain.

B2B operator (business account owner, marketer) purchases a domain from a registrar, sets up a CNAME DNS record on it, and specifies the domain in the Leeloo.ai settings. After that, all generated links use their brand.

B2C client (subscriber, buyer) does not interact with the setup directly, but sees the branded link of your domain instead of the service wep.wf — this increases recognizability and trust when opening an LGT or payment page.

This setting writes nothing directly into the Client's Card — it works at the company infrastructure level (one domain per company) and affects which address all LGT and offer links are formed at.

After reviewing this guide you will understand

  • why you should connect your own domain instead of the default wep.wf;

  • which domain is suitable: a new “clean” domain or a subdomain of an existing site;

  • how to place a CNAME DNS record at your domain registrar;

  • how to specify the domain in the Leeloo.ai settings;

  • why DNS changes do not take effect immediately.

Purpose

The key role of this setting is to give your links a branded, trustworthy address and to ensure ad analytics work correctly. This is its USP: once connected, the domain is automatically applied to all of the company's LGTs and offers.

At the Attract stage, a branded domain makes ad links and entry points recognizable, bypasses regional blocks on the service domain, and lets you configure conversions on LGT button clicks (important after Facebook updates). The job — to ensure maximum deliverability and trust for the funnel's entry points.

At the Convert stage, offers and payment pages also open on your domain, which reduces drop-off at the step of moving to purchase. The job — to remove the “foreign” service address from the client's path to payment.

2. Before you start

Before you begin the setup, make sure you have:

  • your own domain purchased from a registrar (for example, GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.);

  • access to the DNS management panel for this domain (the registrar's or hosting account);

  • access to the company settings section in Leeloo.ai with permissions to edit the main information.

To ensure everything works correctly, you will need either a new domain (clean domain), or create a subdomain on your site and configure the DNS records on the subdomain.

3. Purchasing and registering a domain

We will use the https://godaddy.com/ service as an example. If you already have a domain, simply follow the instructions starting from section 4.

  1. Register and purchase a domain. For how to do this, see the help on this service's side — link.

4. Placing a DNS record on the domain

  1. On the purchased domain you need to place a DNS record. To do this, go to the “My Products” section.

  1. Click on the desired domain and scroll down to “Additional Settings → DNS Server Management”.

  1. In the window that opens, fill in the fields as shown in the screenshot.

  1. Type — CNAME.

  2. Host — in this field, specify the name of the subdomain you want to create.

  3. Points towep-wf-proxy.leeloo.ai (each provider has its own placement rules: some require placing a dot at the end of the value, some do not — check this with your hosting provider).

  4. TTL — 1\2 hours.

  5. OK — button to confirm the settings.

We recommend registering a new domain or using a subdomain. Please note: if you use a subdomain, then enter “blog” in the “Host” field to create the subdomain blog.mysite.com.

The DNS record may not register immediately — some time is needed to update the information.

5. Connecting the domain to the Leeloo.ai platform

After that, we proceed to connecting the domain on the Leeloo.ai platform.

  1. Open the “Settings → Main Information” section.

  2. In the “Proxy Domain” field, enter your domain and click “Save” in the top-right corner.

Once you complete these steps, all LGTs and offers (offers) will be generated on the domain you specify in the settings:

wep.wf/hash → yourdomain.com/hash
